Home Company Blog

I have always hated making websites. I don't view myself as particularly creative, and the time required to maintain a website takes away from time I could be spending helping customers or spending time with my family.

ALL THAT HAS CHANGED!!!

Welcome to the world of CMS or Content Management System. You set up the site once, and then making updates is as easy as writing an e-mail.

I've got a couple website requests from folks who for some reason ($), didn't want to go with the guy I've been referring. Added expense equals added knowledge. I'm starting from the ground floor with this as my first website using Joomla. It won't be the greatest, but I am thrilled at how easy it is to use once everything is in place.

That's all for now...back to the Joomla books!

I do a lot of driving around town, and it never ceases to amaze me how many people I recognize on the road. Today I saw Quizno's Steve making a delivery and he pulled in behind me. We shared a wave and although I've never done work for him, I knew that he could see my phone number on the back of my vehicle for when he finally does have computer problems. He turned one way onto the highway and I turned another, only making it a couple blocks before stopping at a red light.

"BEEP BEEP" came from behind me, and I looked in the rear view mirror to see two smiling faces. The light turned green and they came up beside me. It was a father with his daughter that I had sold a netbook to and removed a couple viruses for. They had received great same-day service, and it showed with the smiles on their faces as they zoomed past me. It feels good to do the right thing in business. The rewards of operating a successful company go far beyond financial. Being able to be recognized out on the road with a smile and wave feels just as good as any dollar earned.
